These, the opposite of current assets, ate the company's short-term debts that will fall due and be paid during the next 12 months. Accounts payable are the accounts receivable of suppliers and merchants who have provided California Standard with goods and services of one sort or another on credit. Current installments on long-term debt are the big-money equivalent of your monthly payment to the savings bank that holds your mortgage or the finance company through whom you bought your car. Taxes must also be paid during the year.
